Our classes will provide the perfect combination of fun and fitness. Children will be introduced to the Foundations of the Gymnastics Curriculum, and they will practice on the traditional gymnastics events, including floor exercise, bars, vault, and beam, with some trampoline use as well. We will practice locomotor skills, balance, and age-appropriate stretching/ conditioning, to develop their muscles and create flexible bodies. From perfecting forward rolls and handstands to learning cartwheels and flips, each child will learn at their own pace, in a safe and encouraging environment.

Acro Angels, the premier educator in fundamental kids gymnastics skills, proudly holds memberships with the South African Gymnastics Federation and the Western Cape Gymnastics Association.

Since 2023, we’ve been dedicated to providing communities, parents, and children with the highest quality gymnastics training.

Maddie

Hi! I'm Coach Maddie,Head Coach and owner of Acro Angels Gymnastics!

With over 10 years of coaching experience in Artistic Gymnastics and a background as a competitive gymnast from age 6, l've dedicated my life to the sport, competing in the U.S. up to Level 8 before transitioning into coaching at 19.I started at Roanoke Gymnastics Club, coaching recreational, pre-team, and Level 4 competitive gymnasts.

After college, I coached at NYC ELITE, running Mom & Tot, Preschool, Advanced Recreational, and Pre-team classes, as well as Gymnastics Summer Camp. Later, in Los Angeles, I coached at Broadway Gymnastics, teaching Recreational, Advanced Gymnastics, Birthday Parties, and Mobile Traveling Gym.Since moving to South Africa and having my own kids, I've truly missed coaching-so I created Acro Angels Gymnastics, a fun, accessible Artistic Gymnastics program in Cape Town to share my passion and help kids grow in this amazing sport!

Melinda

Gymnastics Instructor | Ballet Background | Early Childhood Educator

With a unique blend of ballet dancing and early childhood teaching experience, I bring a deep passion for movement and education to my role as a gymnastics instructor. My background as a ballet dancer has not only refined my understanding of body control and technique, but it has also inspired me to share the beauty of movement with children in a fun and supportive way.

As an early childhood educator, I have spent years fostering positive connections with young children, guiding them through their developmental stages with patience, care, and enthusiasm. I understand how important it is to nurture a child’s confidence, coordination, and self-expression through movement. This passion for working with children is at the heart of everything I do, and I love seeing them grow in both skill and confidence as they engage in gymnastics.

Whether I’m teaching a toddler’s first somersault or helping older children refine their tumbling skills, my goal is always to create a safe, encouraging, and joyful environment. I believe that every child has their own unique potential, and I strive to bring out the best in each of them while fostering a love for fitness and movement that will last a lifetime.

Tatum

Hi, I'm Tatum, and I have always enjoyed working with children.

My experience includes taking a break halfway through university to work as an au pair in Ireland, combining a love for childcare and cultural exchange!

I was a dancer for over a decade, exploring hip hop and tap, but focusing on musical theatre and ballet. Thus, I have an extensive background in movement and performance.

Assistant coaching gymnastics has taught me many new skills and is exciting, as I'm learning so much alongside the young gymnasts. It is rewarding seeing everyone's hard work paying off in the studio, and I am excited to continue creating an encouraging environment for our students to grow and succeed.

Zakirah

I'm Zakirah, a passionate advocate for health and strength.

With a lifelong background in athletics, I'm proud to have earned Western Province colors in the 200-meter sprint and javelin events during my high school years.

As a newly qualified Pilates instructor, I specialize in Barre, reformer, and mat work. My comprehensive approach to fitness and wellness is rooted in my commitment to empowering others through movement and education.

Nadia

Hi, I am Coach Nadia

I am originally from Johannesburg. As a young child I was always very active . First I was a gymnast for a few years and then went onto High Energy Dancing for many more.
In high school I participated in A team swimming, athletics and hockey. I also played club hockey for 7 years.

After school I dabbled in various types of sport and physical activities e.g. kick boxing, yoga, badminton and more.

When I lived in Germany I tought fun kids yoga combined with mindfulness and creativity. I also instructed a casual fun fitness class for women.

I enjoy instructing and coaching kids gymnastics and often get some good advice from my 8 and 9 year old daughters 😊.

I love working and having fun with children because they remind me how to be more joyful and playful again. It brings me great pleasure in helping them achieve little milestones and build confidence.

Gymnastics is a wonderful combination of fun, fitness, flexibility, strength, physical challenges and comradery.

I am proud to be a part of it!

Catherine

Jemma

Hi I’m Jemma,

I began my circus journey at just 10 years old, training in single trapeze, triple trapeze, and lyra. For 11 years I had the incredible opportunity to travel and perform around the world with Zip Zap Circus School, where I discovered my passion for being in the air and connecting with others who shared the same love for performance.

I’m originally from Cape Town and am currently completing my Honours in Psychology, while continuing to follow my love for aerials and circus. Teaching at Acro Angels allows me to combine my passion for movement with inspiring and empowering others. I love creating a space where students can build strength, confidence, and expression while experiencing the magic of aerials.

I’m 20 years old and have always had a passion for movement. Living an active lifestyle and believing in the power of movement to inspire growth, confidence, and joy has been my biggest motivation.

Since I was a kid, I’ve loved activities that build strength and flexibility, such as acro yoga and rhythmic gymnastics. More recently, I qualified in aerial yoga, which I find to be such a fun way to stay strong, flexible, and fit.

I absolutely love teaching kids and helping them discover their own strength, skills, and love for staying active!

Emma

Hey, I’m Emma!

I grew up as a competitive artistic gymnast, where I represented the Western Province team for many years. Gymnastics has always been a huge part of my life! Shaping the start for my love of being active.

I spent a summer overseas at a camp in Pennsylvania running a kids strength and conditioning programme from ages 6-16. This became extremely rewarding for me to work with children to not only see their strength grow over the weeks but also their self confidence!

I’m now coaching CrossFit at a gym in Hout Bay and love helping people of all stages in their fitness life reach their goals.

I believe gymnastics is one of the best ways to build not just strength and  flexibility but also confidence and determination. I’m passionate about passing those lessons on as best as I can for young gymnasts and creating a fun and supportive environment!
